Overlord anime funny moments9/23/2023 ![]() However, I’m still a little bit foggy on what exactly the motivations of the Powers That Be in the setting are. I’m enjoying the suspense of trying to figure out who’s going to get killed off next. This is what happens when you get a bunch of famous character designers (including Fate/Stay Night’s Nasu and Fate/Zero’s Urobuchi) together and tell them to go ham on a tabletop game. Random sidenote: Adlet and Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu!‘s Tailred definitely get their hair done at the same place. I’ve never seen a fantasy story quite like this before, and I’m eager to see where it goes. The protagonist is a typical arrogant shonen hero, but at least people are calling him out on it. However, the two series could not be more different, both in tone and the way that the premise is carried out. It shares a basic premise with Sword Art Online: a protagonist trapped inside a video game, and the adventures that they have as they attempt to navigate the world. To the most casual observer, Overlord might appear to be derivative. “Please bestow your orders upon us, Supreme One.
